On friday 30th of October 2009, shortly after 4pm, collective of squat Palác Sofia at Slovakian city Žilina took part solidarity action for Dutch squatters support. That action answered on Dutch squatters´movement call, which called on 30.10. - 1. 11. 2009 Squatting support action days.

Main purpose of those action days was to protest against politics of lower house of Dutch Parliament, what passed the law criminalising squatting. People from Palác Sofia decided to join many demonstrators from different parts of world and they were protesting at the Slovakian streets. Action was restful, despite of two policewomen, which warned squatters, that publical giving leaflets is without municipality license illegal. They warned with penalty, but nobody was convicted. All was resolved during the discussion and action could go on.

There was hanged red-black, anarchist flag and transparent "Solidarity with Dutch squatters" at the fence of local bulidingsite. Under the transparent there were squatters giving leaflets and clarified the purpose of action to the passers-by. But many of people didn´t know about squatting questions, even some didn´t know, what does mean "squat". We hope, that solidarity action in Žilina helped at least particularly with clarify what is squatting about.

When were all the leaflets handed out, protesters moved back to squat Palác Sofia, where was laterly hanged aforesaid transparent, like the next manifestation of solidarity with Dutch squatting movenent.
